This booklet was published in order to record, on the basis of the different experiences, the essential principles for the local consultation process.
This methodological and practical tool is especially intended for project managers in the area of local development in the public or private field, for local authorities or industrial enterprises and generally for all stakeholders who want to get involved in this kind of process.
The publication summarises experiences from different projects led or accompanied by Orée.
It has been developed to present useful instruments, which are adapted to different situations and it lists the keynotes before, during and after the consultation process.
With this tool, organisations, industrial enterprises and local authorities have created a common vocabulary to promote establishment projects, in accordance with the objectives of sustainable development and territorial integration.

This publication is Orée's bestseller. It was reprinted in 2006 and updated with regard to regulatory aspects. A completely new revised edition is planned for 2008.
