Experiences of European Companies in Implementing Environmental Management
1997 File, 140 pages Booklet only available in English This collection of case studies gives examples, which can serve as a model in applying environmental policies through experience exchange. This document has been worked out within the framework of the European programme ADAPT (a European Union initiative aimed at assisting the workforce adapt to industrial change), implemented by the European Social Fund and cofinanced by the French Ministry for the Environment. The project was developed during working meetings attended by institutional and regional partners of companies: local and regional Chambers of Commerce, Regional Councils, trade unions and professional associations, business associations and the French Agency for the Environment and Energy Management (ADEME).
Presentation of experiences from 47 companies (including 4 from European countries other than France), each on 3-4 individual sheets. The companies are listed according to the sectors they represent: food industry, car industry, forestry, office automation, chemical industry, water management, printing industry, mining, electrical equipment industry, mechanical engineering, paper industry, plastics industry, tanning industry, textile industry, surface treatment industry.
