Research and Development Project on Industrial Ecology
The COMETHE Project Within the framework of the French Programme for Research into Eco-Technologies and Sustainable Development (PRECODD), launched by the French National Research Agency (ANR), a state-owned administration which finances research projects, Orée coordinates the COMETHE project. This project aims at developing methodological analysis and evaluation tools for industrial ecology.
The project is based on the joint effort of 12 partners (universities, research centres, environmental protection organisations, planning offices and experts, local authorities and companies) in order to conceive tools, which give support in implementing an industrial ecology process within a given territory (industrial parks). In the context of the principles of sustainable development, those tools are intended for industrial park managers, representatives of industry and public institutions. The project is closely linked to other projects on industrial parks carried out by Orée. PRECODD programme description (PDF) on the homepage of the European Commission Prospective reflection workshops on industrial ecology (ARPEGE) of the National Research Agency (ANR) In February 2006, the ANR launched two prospective reflection workshops on environmental technologies, and more precisely, on eco-innovations and industrial ecology. Both workshops were also carried out in the support of the programme PRECODD.
In this context, Orée plays a part in organising the internal and external communication and in analysing the international experience feedbacks.
